KAMAL HASSAN IS AN ATHEIST. PROBLEM?

Of late, many people are shaming Kamal Hassan, targeting his personal life and beliefs. People are all too quick to pick on the actor's seeming faults and pass malicious and judgemental comments, forgetting his contribution to Indian cinema, particularly in Tamil cinema which is also known as Kollywood.

The grouses are as follows and the counters to the flak:

1. He got divorced 2 times: If a relationship is not successful, nothing wrong with ending that relationship than living with bitterness at each other. Above all, that is Kamal's personal issue and no one has the right to be vitriolic at him just because his marriages did not become 'happily ever after.' None of us know what the man's been through so give him a break.

2. He's living together with actress Gouthami: What's wrong with living together? He's not living with any other woman, he's living together with his lover. And, the purpose of marriage is just to show the world that they are in love, that's it. A metal (wedding ring & etc.) doesn't matter to an atheist. This is his life and he'll live it the way he wants. Even his daughters are cool about it so who are we to judge? Before pinpointing the loopholes in the families of others, be careful about not falling into the loopholes that exist in your family.

3. He's an atheist: So being an atheist means worshiping the devil? Well, it is not so. Atheists simply don't believe in God - that's it. They are very kind and generous people, they treat everyone equally. Everyone has his or her own views on spirituality. Being a godless heathen does not make one the devil's slave. One can't help but wonder why some people are not open to accept people who have thoughts and beliefs different from theirs and carry a holier than thou attitude with them.

4. Kissing scenes in his movies: Kissing, fighting, crying, whatever it is, for Kamal it's just acting. Kissing is just a way of expressing the love. Is it ruining our culture? Like seriously? For all haters, do you know that 50 years ago, widows were not allowed to remarry in India. 100 years ago, widows are burnt alive on their husband's pyre. In ancient India, women did not cover their bodies much: if you go to temples in India, there are semi nude female idols. Why was that so, you may ask. It is a forgotten custom where men were conditioned to contain their sexual urges. Where and who came up with Kamasutra? It was written by Sage Vatsyayana, an Indian and it was written in India. Kamal Hassan knows all that and sort of intersperses it in his movies. He is genuine and doesn't fake it. FYI, Kamal Hassan never studied in college - but he studied life and all the knowledge he has is extramural.
Instead of chastising Kamal Hassan that he is culture-less and doesn't have integrity please compare him with those who raped the med student in Delhi, India's politicians and then tell who is culture-less and don't have integrity.
