Atheists are perhaps the most misunderstood people on Earth - others want to criticize, demonize, burn and kill atheists simply because they don't buy gods and religions' ideals.
The platform where atheists can display their spirituality (yes, atheism is spiritual) is Facebook but theists make the lives of atheist, well, hell on earth because that is what is palpable.
Atheists see theists post pictures glorifying religions and gods everytime on Facebook and most of us leave such posts alone - we don't censure them for believing in God or espouse religion. One such post is below:
When an atheist sees a post like above, the atheist will simply scroll down, giving the theist his space.
I daresay that I never saw an atheist, at least on Facebook get offended when theists post stuff relating to the glorification of God or report religious Facebook pages. But, if an atheist post something in accordance to his or her belief, theists would besiege it and breathe fire at the atheist.
There is no such thing as being 'offensive' at a religion or god - there is only insecure religion and god. No atheist would report god worshiping Facebook pages but theists report pro atheism Facebook in droves. If God is all powerful and created mankind, He (God is almost always male) surely does not need His creation to defend him.
Strangely too, theists can accept others praying to other gods and espousing other religions but not those who don't pray to any god and espouse any religion and I have experienced it.
A Muslim was tarnishing Hinduism on a newspaper link on Facebook and suddenly a Hindu appeared and began to badmouth Muhammad. I interfered, and said that there is no proof for the existence of god and that we should fight to weed out corrupt politicians instead of fighting with each other which god is superior and which god is inferior. The next thing that happened astounded me - the Muslim and Hindu formed an allegiance and began to address each other as 'bro' as I became their mutual enemy. They started to blame me for all the problems and unanimously said that I am going to hell. I asked which hell I will go to - Islam hell or Hindu hell and they were silenced.
In the scenario above, take the atheist out of the picture and watch how the religious people fight over who's God's penis is bigger. Yes, Hindus worship the phallic image of Lord Shiva's genital and it is known as the lingga. I am using that analogy to convey the literal David and Goliath battle that occurs when religious people profess that their religion is the right religion coupled up by saying that their religion is the greatest of all and is ageless or ancient.
Yeah sure, how many theists are praying to Zeus and Amon Ra now?
Atheists, bar militant atheists are very flexible - they are willing to renounce disproved establishments and take on board new establishments on the base of logic, reason and science and don't see the need to advocate god's supplicants to do atheist apostasy.
Atheists don't see the need to defend their atheism - they simply dissect and point out the loopholes of organized religion while theists are the exact opposite - they see a need to defend theism and defile atheism. Why? It is because of the strength and the weakness of their convictions, both holy and earthly. Atheists are pretty sure that there is no god and they don't really go public with the belief because of the strength of their believe. The same cannot be said for the theists.
In conclusion, theists should learn to give atheists the space to express themselves. If God and hell are for real, atheists have the gumption to deal with it. Will theists deal with the possibility that death is a for good slumber and there might be no god, hell or heaven?
