Education had been their priority and they did not care even to sell the gold thali of my mother's to send me to college. And, there I was, smoking in front of the college stairs, puffing away my parents' blood, sweat and toil.
I’ve been a useless son, right? Well, somehow by miracle I graduated, I made my way through my career and what I’m earning now is hefty at my age. Not many earn this much anyway. Time for bragging.
When I started earning, I decided never to separate from my parents. That is the sole reason the new house that I moved in was huge enough to fit in a few families, so that when I get married, all of us would be in the same house. EVERYONE. Perhaps if my wife does not like it, well, she will be shown the door out of my house.
We live in a good condition now. You might be reading this perhaps from your personal computer connected to the Internet. You’re eating good food. You’re living in a good house.
You would not have all the luxury now if it wasn't for your parents. They sacrificed half of their lives to see their children reach great heights
After all this things that had been done for you, there are still so many jack asses out there in our society that dump their parents into old folks home after they’re old.
Or perhaps you’ve heard about the story where the guy dumped his parents when his wife asked him to do so?
Anyhow, the point is simple. No parents deserve this kind of treatment from the hands of their own children. Imagine the pain and the suffering they would have to endure if you just leave them like that.
If your parents didn’t support you all this while, what you would have ate? Feces? Indeed maybe you would have to eat feces. Maybe you’ve started eating feces - that is the reason you chase them out.
Some say that after getting old their parents becomes somewhat annoying and so on. Annoying , when you were little, you defecate and urinate everywhere and your mother cleans after you, she converted her blood into milk and nourished you, when you were sick, she kept vigil by your side. You grow up and become a rebel, face failures and difficulties. Who stood by you then? The money you are making now? No, your parents stood by you, at every step.
All the while they had never been annoying because you need their support - if you walk out of their house, you will have to beg to make a living. Now that you have started to earn, thanks to your parents, now you find them annoying eh? There is no price you can pay back to settle the amount they’ve spent for you - how would you pay back for you mother's breast milk?
Your parents don't expect money from you, nor they want you to refund all the money they spent on you - they only want you to be with them. They only want you to shower them with love.
So many people out there don't have parents and they long for a father's and a mother's love. You are lucky enough to have parents that doted on you. Have some gratitude - do not bite the hands that fed you.
So many boys and girls that I’ve seen complain that their parents control them too much, always scolding and beating them. I want to ask them, what would happen if your parents abandon you?
Why do your parents scold you? For time pass? No, it is because they don't want to derail from the right track of life. In this world, no one has your best interests at heart other than your parents - believe your parents, don't believe anyone else.
If your girlfriend tells you to stop smoking, you would do it cold turkey but when your mother, the lady that carried you in her womb for 9 months and raised you tells you to stop smoking, you receive it in your right ear and let it slip through your right ear.
You would passively receive the slipper clobber from a girl you've covetous eyes on but wouldn't bear it if your dad hits you; it becomes a matter of pride for you. You get so angry when your father reprimands you or give one or two strokes of lashing to you, imagine how your father will feel - he works hard to give you a good life and if you become wayward, he should not question you. What logic is this?
Your parents would never curse even when you throw them out, they would still be praying for your happiness. That’s the thing. That’s parenthood. That’s love.
No matter how many temple you go around, how many prayers you might have done, how many charities you’ve done, how many people you’ve made happy, the only thing that makes you a good man in this world is taking good care of your parents.
Remember, parents should always be your priority. If somehow any day anyone talks about putting their parents in old folk’s home to you, make sure you spit on their face. Let them know there can be no human with a more disgusting and awful heart and mentality than them.
