Child trafficking is now a global threat and it is prevalent widely in the South Asian countries and in South Africa. Unfortunately, nothing is really being done to demolish this illegal institution.
As the Child Protection Week kicks off, Jean Benjamin, the deputy social development minister acknowledges in the Parliament that, the nation needs to buckle up and take up the struggle against the worst form of trade that South Africa is currently encountering.
The minister said that no official figure is released until today about the number of children caught up in this trafficking business; nevertheless, it is the duty of the families, communities, and all the social organizations to help these vulnerable kids.
Another report from International Organisation on Migratio says that South Africa is the ideal place for the traders as this nation counts as the main source where they hunt for the children in the rural areas and then transfer them to the urban places and force them into sexual trades.
Rather shocking that the government and other child welfare organization are doing nothing despite the crude fact that nearly 2,000 children are killed every year and 900 of them go missing.Child trafficking rampant in South Africa.
