SCIENTIFIC REASONS ON WHY WE SHOULD VISIT TEMPLES

There are thousands of temples all over India in different size, shape and locations but not all of them are considered to be built the Vedic way. Generally, a temple should be located at a place where earth's magnetic wave path passes through densely. It can be in the outskirts of a town/village or city, or in middle of the dwelling place, or on a hilltop. The essence of visiting a temple is discussed in this article.

Now, these temples are located strategically at a place where the positive energy is abundantly available from the magnetic and electric wave distributions of north/south pole thrust. The main idol is placed in the core center of the temple, known as "*Garbhagriha*" or *Moolasthanam* (main dome). In fact, the temple structure is built after the idol has been placed. This *Moolasthanam* is where earth’s magnetic waves are found to be maximum. We know that there are some copper plates, inscribed with Vedic scripts, buried beneath the Main Idol. What are they really? No, they are not God’s/priests’ flash cards when they forget the *shlokas*(mantras). The copper plate absorbs earth’s magnetic waves and radiates it to the surroundings. Thus a person regularly visiting a temple and walking clockwise around the Main Idol receives the beamed magnetic waves and his body absorbs it. This is a very slow process and a regular visit will let him absorb more of this positive energy. Scientifically, it is the positive energy that we all require to have a healthy life.

Further, the Sanctum is closed on three sides. This increases the effect of all energies. The lamp that is lit radiates heat energy and also provides light inside the sanctum to the priests or performing the pooja (prayer ritual). The ringing of the bells and the chanting of prayers takes a worshiper into trance, thus not letting his mind waver. When done in groups, this helps people forget personal problems for a while and relieve their stress. The fragrance from the flowers, the burning of camphor give out the chemical energy further aiding in a different good aura. The effect of all these energies is supplemented by the positive energy from the idol, the copper plates and utensils in the *Moolasthan*am / *Garbagraham*. *Theertham*, (holy water) used during the pooja to wash the idol is not plain water cleaning the dust off an idol. It is a concoction of Cardamom,*Karpura* (camphor), saffron, *Tulsi* (Holy Basil), Clove, etc.

Washing the idol is to charge the water with the magnetic radiations thus increasing its medicinal values. Three spoons of this holy water is distributed to devotees. Again, this water is mainly a source of magneto-therapy. Besides, the clove essence protects one from tooth decay, the saffron & *Tulsi* leafs protects one from common cold and cough, cardamom and *Pachha Karpuram* (benzoin), act as mouth fresheners.

It is proved that *Theertham* is a very good blood purifier, as it is highly energized. Hence it is given as *prasadam* (divine gift) to the devotees. This way, one can claim to remain healthy by regularly visiting the Temples. This is why our elders used to suggest us to offer prayers at the temple so that you will be cured of many ailments. They were not always superstitious. Yes, in a few cases they did go overboard when due to ignorance they hoped many serious diseases could be cured at temples by deities.

When people go to a temple for the *Deepaaraadhana* (the witnessing of the light lamp), and when the doors open up, the positive energy gushes out onto the persons who are there. The water that is sprinkled onto the assemblages passes on the energy to all. This also explains why men are not allowed to wear shirts at a few temples and women are requested to wear more ornaments during temple visits. It is through these jewels (metal) that positive energy is absorbed by the women. Also, it is a practice to leave newly purchased jewels at an idol’s feet and then wear them with the idol’s blessings. This act is now justified after reading this article. This act of “seeking divine blessings” before using any new article, like books or pens or automobiles may have stemmed from this through mere observation.

Energy lost in a day’s work is regained through a temple visit and one is refreshed slightly. The positive energy that is spread out in the entire temple and especially around where the main idol is placed, are simply absorbed by one's body and mind. Did you know, every Vaishnava (Vishnu devotees), “must” visit a Vishnu temple twice every day in their location. Hindu practices are not some hard and fast rules framed by one man and his followers or God’s words in somebody’s dreams. All the rituals, all the practices are, in reality, well researched, studied and scientifically backed thesis which form the ways of nature to lead a good healthy life.

The scientific and research part of the practices are well camouflaged as “elder’s instructions” or “granny’s teaching’s” which should be obeyed as a mark of respect so as to once again, avoid stress to the mediocre brains.

A LESSON ON MARRIAGE

“When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane. When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month’s notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month’s time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that every day for the month’s duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife’s divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don’t tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it’s time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I drove to office. jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind. I walked upstairs, Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won’t divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we didn’t love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart. Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I’ll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead. My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push through with the divorce. At least, in the eyes of our son - I’m a loving husband.

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves.

So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don’t share this, nothing will happen to you.

If you do, you just might save a marriage. Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. ♥

Remember love is the richest of all treasures. Without it there is nothing; and with it there is everything. Love never perishes , even if the bones of a lover are ground fine like powder. Just as the perfume of sandalwood does not leave it, even if it is completely ground up, similarly the basis of love is the soul, and it is indestructible and therefore eternal. Beauty can be destroyed , but not love.

WHEN I HUG MY KID NIECE, AM I MOLESTING HER?

Disclaimer: This is purely the view of the author. Both Coin neither agrees to nor share the views of the author.

Over the past few decades we've been witnesses to many stories in the media of sexual child abuse or accusations of sexual abuse, real or falsified, from Michael Jackson to the Papacy, from Mega Church Pastors to local Teachers. There is no question that there are many figures of authority who have and who continue to sexually take advantage of children  I am a survivor such abuse.

However, due to the heightened sensitivity of the public psyche due to these events, anyone reading the headlines in recent years has come away with an unsettling message: Sexual predators seem to lurk everywhere.

I'd say that this suspicion affects and criminalizes innocent and affectionate interactions between adults and children, especially among families.

I've listed a few things that were once considered innocent and have now become reasons for concern.

1. Children bathed and showered with Parents & Grandparents
I remember hopping in the shower or tub until at least 5yrs old or so. We'd often be in a rush to get out of the house or the water pressure was low and it took too long to wait for the old water heaters to heat up for a second bath. Often it was just more convenient to knock out two birds with one stone. This was common until my parents deemed it age and gender inappropriate. "He's getting too big to be bathing or showering with his mommy."

2. Children slept and cuddled with adult family members
I have slept with my parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles, napped with them, fully clothed or in PJs; afraid of the dark, lighting, having nightmares, watching TV, etc. They hugged me, laid an arm across me, and were affectionate. This would now be called inappropriate behavior.
My teenage nieces and nephews are super affectionate and love to crawl up under you and crash just like they did as babes. They love being hugged and comforted by us but to the outside world this could be viewed as weird and even wrong.  Are we to deny them of that affection because of someone else's depraved thought?

3. We took nude baby pictures
I have a plethora of baby pics with my underside showing or pictures in the tub playing with ducks and toys. They were considered cute, not child pornography. These would now be seized as Child Porn and my folks, thrown in jail. I can't even share these photos on Twitter, Instagram, or Throwback Thursdays without them being flagged and investigated (just baby pictures of me!)

4. We were held, hugged, and played with by adults
The adults in my life picked me up, sat me on their laps, carried me on their backs, tickled me, hugged me tightly, wrestled me, chased me, both family and friends. You are now to keep a careful distance from the children in your life. It's expected.  We have unspoken rules when it comes to children.
Few Sec Pick Up Rule - You can only pick them up for less than 30 secs before you know to put the child back down.  Don't hold them too long if you aren't the parent.
Tempt Your Attention Rule - Don't give too much of your attention to the child and limit the amount of play especially if you aren't related.

5. Teachers hugged, touched, gave reassuring pats, even kissed on the head, cheek or a scraped knee.
My teachers comforted me, reassured me, weren't afraid of showing affection (or discipline). When I was an Art Teacher for Elementary & Middle Schools we were trained to not touch the students, even if I needed to touch a hand to help guide it.  We had to ask the child's permission and be sure it was witnessed and agreed. "OK, now Sally I need to touch your hand to guide you through this shape. Do you mind?"

Little kids also like to run up and hug you if they like you. I have been in a class when a parent and a student entered and the child runs up to me ecstatically and wraps their arms around my legs. Awkward! You have to reject their affection to prevent accusation.  It was very uncomfortable, like teaching on pins and needles.

Teenagers like to feel chummy with the cool teachers. On many occasions I've had middle school students lean on me, put their arm on my shoulder or around my neck as a friendly gesture. I had to redirect their affections and set very strict boundaries or else risk an accusation. It was a very uncomfortable environment. I too remember doing the same thing to many of my favorite teachers.

6. Nudity was not a concern between parent and child (until a certain age)
I've seen my parents nude and walk around in their undergarments. They have changed clothes in front of me and they've clearly seen me nude as a boy. My parents didn't objectify nudity.  Neither were they Nudist, but there was a healthy balance and acceptance of the body. I've read of parents being suspected of sexual abuse because it was reported that they have been nude around their kids.

7. Teaching your children about sex and courting
My family has always been open about sex. They talk freely about it and as we were coming into puberty, they talked to us about our bodies and our curiosities; from girl's menstruation, to wet dreams, intercourse, kissing, pregnancy, STD's. etc. I was never shielded from the realities of sex. However, watching it in movies or TV was forbidden until I was a teenager.  Nonetheless, if a child reports that their parents talked to them about sex, they would be removed from the home.

All of these things were perfectly alright when I was growing up and were not not made into a sexual issue or viewed as abnormal or aberrant. Yes, sexual predators existed and still exist but most people are not child molesters.

I am a survivor of sexual child abuse but none of it happened under any of the above circumstances nor by anyone in which I shared those intimate moments. My abuse was completely unrelated to the love and affection I received from all of the other adults in my life. That clearly is not the case for everyone.

There is a proper context and healthy boundaries to all of these cases but to what extent are we demonizing and criminalizing human affection and their expressions of bonding? When is enough fear too much? Are we depriving a generation of affection and contributing to their inability to be empathetic and connect with other people?  Can anyone come up with a guideline which distinguishes cuddling between molesting because I am befuddled as heck!

BANGLADESH & PAKISTAN: ISLAMIZATION BY RAPING AND KILLING MINORITIES (PART 2)

Read Part 1 here: Bangladesh & Pakistan: Islanization by raping and killing minorities (Part 1)

The situation for Buddhists in Bangladesh was different, for Buddhism had survived countless Islamic conquests in one region because of terrain and other factors; therefore, Buddhists and other faiths had survived in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. However, the increasing population of Bangladesh led to many problems and the government of Bangladesh is on the mission ‘to kill two birds with one stone.’ This applies to moving millions of Muslim people to remote parts of Bangladesh, notably the Chittagong Hill Tracts, while at the same time this new Muslim migration would crush the mainly Buddhist tribal opposition in this region.

Therefore, millions of Muslim migrants were moved into the Chittagong Hill Tracts and the mainly Buddhist tribals (some are Christian, Hindu or follow traditional beliefs) became embroiled in a civil war. Islamic radicals also moved into this region and many Buddhist priests were killed, including some being beheaded. At the same time hundreds of Buddhist temples were destroyed and the Bangladesh army took part in many massacres, and some Buddhist women were gang-raped by both Islamic zealots and the Bangladesh army.

In time the mainly Buddhist tribes were overwhelmed by the armed forces of Bangladesh and Muslim migration because this was a clear dual policy based on Islamization and control. Their situation, however, went unnoticed in the West and Islamic nations obviously remained silent. To make matters worse, the mainly Buddhist tribes had no nation supporting them and no major world leader to draw attention to their plight. Given this, the government of Bangladesh continues with this policy and Buddhists and other minorities face the ongoing Islamization of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

Hindu/Buddhist civilization dating back to thousands of years ago in these nations is being destroyed and the world remains largely silent. It is clear that mainly Buddhist nations like Japan (and Shinto), Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and others, should form an organization to help their co-religionists; with Japan being the main financial power to raise awareness of Buddhist persecution. However, sadly this is not happening and India clearly did not do enough in order to protect or raise the issue of Hindu persecution in both Bangladesh and Pakistan.

If global silence continues then Buddhism will one day be eradicated in Bangladesh. However, the global community did condemn the Taliban in Afghanistan for destroying Buddhist statues and art, yet the same global community remains quiet when Buddhist tribes are being systematically persecuted. Does this mean that Buddhist art in Afghanistan is more important than the persecution of Buddhist communities and the gang rape of Buddhist women in Bangladesh?

Surely the Hindus of Pakistan and Buddhists in the Chittagong Hill Tracts deserve better? If the international community remains silent about this crime, then soon these lands will be Islamized and religiously ‘cleansed.’
The ongoing silence is an international disgrace and because of this Islamists are now killing Ahmadiyya Muslims and Christians in Pakistan. After all, the world remained silent when Hindus and Sikhs faced massive persecution in Pakistan and the same applies to the constant destruction of Buddhist tribal villages in Bangladesh. Therefore, the persecution of all minorities is getting worse in modern day Pakistan.

The most vulnerable and ‘voiceless’ in Bangladesh and Pakistan have been abandoned by the international community and it is no longer an issue of faith - it is an issue of humanity.

BANGLADESH & PAKISTAN: ISLAMIZATION BY RAPING AND KILLING MINORITIES (PART 1)

In modern day Bangladesh and Pakistan you have constant persecution of non-Muslim minorities; theyare being killed in the name of radical Sunni Islam in Pakistan. Therefore, Ahmadiyya Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Shia Muslims, Sikhs, and others, face daily persecution and hatred in Bangladesh and Pakistan respectively.

On August 11th this year, “Minority Day” will be celebrated in Pakistan. However, Dr. Nazir S. Bhatti of the Pakistan Christian Congress announced that they will be observing ‘Black Day” because of the constant persecution of minorities in Pakistan.

Dr. Nazir S. Bhatti states “How we can celebrate Minority Day in Pakistan when our innocent brothers are being killed by Islamic militants and our women are being gang raped and forcibly converted to Islam?”

It is clear that the partition of India led to chaos and hundreds of thousands of people were murdered. After this chaos divisions would emerge between East Pakistan and West Pakistan and further bloodshed would occur, with the outcome being the sovereign nations of Bangladesh and Pakistan. However, while India remains to be multi-religious, the opposite is happening in Bangladesh and Pakistan because religious minorities are facing the brute reality of radical Sunni Islam.
To make matters worse both Bangladesh and Pakistan would witness the gradual Islamization of their societies, notably Pakistan, and massive corruption and persecution of women would continue. The Islamization of both nations was especially traumatic for Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan and for Hindus and Buddhists in Bangladesh. Not surprisingly, this Islamic persecution of minorities in both nations re-awakened anti-Islamic feelings in India.

Christians in Pakistan also began to feel the brunt of radical Sunni Islam and the same applies to Ahmadiyya Muslims who suffer greatly. At the same time you also have growing divisions within Sunni Islam and the usual Sunni-Shia divide led to many massacres and terrorist attacks.

However, unlike the destruction of Buddhism and Hinduism in Afghanistan which happened centuries earlier because of Islamic conquests, forced conversions to Islam, systematic persecution, and controlling all leverages of power; the Islamization of Bangladesh and Pakistan took place in the twentieth century and continues today.

Yet, why are the religions of Buddhism and Hinduism being allowed to be destroyed in both nations? After all, Buddhists in Bangladesh were a small minority and they could never threaten Islam; the same applies to Hindus in Pakistan. Despite this, the international community remains very silent.

Why did other nations remain quiet when massive religious persecution was taking place? After all, nations like France, the United Kingdom and America were espousing ‘democracy’ and liberals were glorifying multi-faith societies and stating that Islam was a religion of peace. At the same time major institutions like the Commonwealth, which espoused global human rights, remained quiet despite religious persecution and pogroms in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

In Pakistan the destruction of Hinduism and persecution of Hindus took many forms. The first path was the massacre of Hindus during partition and forcing Hindus to leave via coercion.

However, over the last 50 years the destruction of Hinduism in modern day Pakistan was based on past Islamic global conquests and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed who sanctioned the persecution of non-Muslims. For the Prophet Mohammed had told his followers to ‘Fight those who believe not in God nor the last day . . . Nor acknowledge the religion of truth (Islam) . . .’ Therefore, the followers of Hinduism were to be subdued in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia Law, the Koran and the Hadiths.

Given this, Hindus were now a subdued minority, like Christians in Pakistan, and they were unequal in law and status in accordance with the teachings of Islam. At the same time Hindu temples were often converted into Muslim mosques or destroyed, and ancient Hindu architecture was left to collapse and fade away. The choice for many Hindus was either to convert to Islam in order to escape persecution, flee to India or to accept that they were second-class citizens in Pakistan. Not surprisingly, the Hindu population in Pakistan continued to decline and this civilization was being eradicated by Islam.

SCIENCE IN THE VEDAS AND HOW IT WAS WRONGED

Disclaimer: This is purely the view of the author. Both Coin neither agrees to nor share the view of the author.

The core foundation of Hindu belief is that Vedas contain source of all knowledge, physical or metaphysical. However in last 100 odd years, this belief has come under scrutiny due to the advances that modern science claims to make.

An entire group of Vedic ‘experts’ have stood up to prove that Vedas contain early man theories and are not compatible with modern discoveries. These include communist historians propelled by commentaries on Vedas by western indologists like Max Muller, Griffith etc and a new breed of intellectuals who initiate all research with assumption that ‘old means defective’.

However in modern era of religious marketing, another group has come up which would go to any length to discover scientific errors in Vedas. This is the group which would want 800 million Hindus to lose faith in Vedas and their religion and embrace what they believe is the final message of God. Yes, I am referring to Islamic and Christian evangelists.

While both these groups of evangelists are propelled by vision of making everyone in world a follower of their respective Holy Books, the situation is even more desperate for Quran zealots. This is because a bulk of Islamic evangelists believe that Jesus will come again towards end of the world after which they would reach Paradise forever. And an important sign of Jesus’ coming is conquest of India. I do not know the original source of this superstition, but this remains a primary motivator for most Islamic evangelists today.

Thus, every now and then, we would see references to ‘Scientific Errors in Vedas’. The typical pattern would be English translation of some mantra followed by a Veda Mantra reference.

For example:

“Earth is flat” – Yajur Ved 32.8

Often the reference and English translation are both pointing to sources best known to authors of these works. But for the layman, these create a lot of confusion and doubt over relevance of Vedas. While I would shy away from thrusting my personal faith on Vedas, I would like to provide some excerpts from Vedas that provide clues to deep scientific concepts hidden within them.

Unfortunately, due to thousand years of slavery, burning of our universities and libraries by barbarians and then demands for tackling issues of survival first, there remains a lot of work to be done to rediscover the Vedic sciences. However, sufficient clues exist to justify why this rediscovery would be worthwhile. In this article, I shall provide some brief snippets of such clues.

A point of note: Vedas are not dogmatic in nature and contains eternal truths. Thus, Vedas would contain seeds for all forms of knowledge and would urge humans to explore further because in the Vedic framework, its our efforts that can provide us bliss.

Swami Dayanand has detailed Mantras regarding these in his Vedic commentary and Introduction to Vedas” (1876). The scientists of IISc concluded that the mechanism of airplane as suggested by Dayanand is feasible. The first manned plane was built 20 years after death of Swami Dayanand.

The verses are difficult to translate in English here, but readers are advised to review “Introduction to Vedas” by Swami Dayanand or interpretations of following mantras:

Rig Veda 1.116.3, 1.116.4, 10.62.1, 1.116.5, 1.116.6, 1.34.2, 1.34.7, 1.48.8 etc.

SCIENCE OF TELEGRAPHY

Rig Veda 1.119.10
“With the help of bipolar forces (Asvins), you should employ telegraphic apparatus made of good conductor of electricity. It is necessary for efficient military operations but should be used with caution.”

I hope this would be sufficient to at least drive the need for further exploration of our scientific heritage originating from the Vedas. We that claim these are Indian discoveries.

10. In debates with people from other religions, try to make them understand that Islam is a religion of peace, Al-Quran is a miracle, is a scientific book, try your best to convince them to embrace Islam. But if they don't understand this, block them from your friend lists and create fan pages against them, so that everyone can know those infidels.

MALAYSIANS OF INDIAN ETHNICITY, LISTEN UP

Foremost, as much as I like to refer to Indians in Malaysia 'Malaysians' some of us have not transcended the race separatism. This is the result of race based system of everything phased in since our nation's independence.

But, the focus of this article is to make Malaysians of Indian ethnicity think and re-arrange their priorities.

Lately, there are many Indian and Hinduism defiling comments and posts popping up in Facebook. Below is an example:

The Malay girl, Hanum Hizan is calling us immigrants. She added that the Sri Lankan government taught Indians a very good lesson by wiping them out like pigs and further says that if we don't like it here, we should just go back to India where the roads are full of poop and poop in the Ganges river.

As we can see there was reprisal on behalf of the Chinese and an Indian and Miss Hanum goes on to say that Malaysia would be peaceful without the 7%, referring to the Indians- that they only contribute to crime rise.

Now, let's face the reality - what Hanum said is the truth! Can we deny it? No, because 60% of prison inmates are Indians as opposed to Malaysia's population ratio. Yes, truth is indeed hard to swallow but what is harder is to change the inconvenient truth into paths of progression. Instead of defending ourselves, being keyboard warriors let us battle against the scrounge that is sending our boys to prison by droves, that is, gangsterism. See, first of all, we ain't no angels in general; we are the bunch who rock the boat and when other races point it out we get all defensive and succumb to mawkish and profane retorts, trying to wrong those who are criticizing us. Before doing that, take a good look at ourselves and try to mend our rogue ways. No point getting offended when Malays call us 'India mabuk' when in reality alcoholism is the bane of our community. The Chinese drink too, noiselessly, without commotion and fights like us.

But, some racial statements are dangerous. Although we behave in such way people speak bad about us, we don't deserve discrimination. If we are charged for speaking bad about Malays and Islam, the specific individuals from that race should be charged too. Laws should not be discriminatory. Although I totally disagree with the havoc our people are creating, letting racism grow is not good.

We need to stop it, ASAP but not in the ways we are doing now; we should prove to  them wrong by action not overreaction. We should change ourselves, reshuffle our priorities and silence the ridicule with our success and most of all learn to take criticism in our stride - if we keep looking back to throw stones at our tormentors, we would be stuck in a rut. WE WILL NOT PROGRESS. By being a progressive community, we will be able to kill two birds with a stone - we will live well and no one will dare to denounce us.

And, some of us don't know the difference between race and religion. We tend to equate Indian with Hindu. We seem oblivious that there are Christian and Muslim Indians here and they are completely left out of the picture. One more thing, I would like to reiterate that we are not Indians but Malaysians of Indian ethnicity/descent. And, some of us divide the Indian community even further by sub race (Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi, Tamil, Ceylonese, etc) and caste. Given that veracity, there is a long way for us to go to be Malaysian. Ironically, we call ourselves fellow Malaysians abroad but say, "I am Malay, he is Chinese and you are Indian," in Malaysia. It is the direct result from institutionalized racism. But, nothing is permanent; change is constant and we have hope in the future where we are all Malaysians, playing on equal field.

The response to the picture above:

"Let me come over to our history - ever heard of Harappa and Mohenjo- Daro? We taught you civilization bro and Parameswara was a descendant from Raajendra Chola I, he was a representative king of Chola kingdom, Indonesia and Malaysia was a sub-ordinate territory of the Chola Kingdom and what are you crapping that he was not from India? Even your name, Merong Mahawangsa originates from a Hindu background, he was a king of Langkasuka (now Kedah). Look around you b*stard, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Candis in Lembah Bujang and the great Candis of Borubudur in Indonesia are all engineered by Hindus (Tamils). We have thousands of years buildings here around the Nusantara region and for your information, Tamil originates from a place called Kumari Kandam. A stretched land between India, Sri Lanka up to Australia. Geologically, that land existed and it has submerged during the continental separation. Kumari Kandam is the birth place of Tamils and we were there before any civilization ever formed.

Now you show me the evidences that Hinduism originates from your so called agama Ibrahim AS and explain Kalki? Name me all our prophets, and who is Kalki?

Kalki is a prophet in Hinduism who has not even up to date existed yet and Nabi Muhammad era of ruling is said to have over. We are in Kaliyugam where Kalki is said to be coming as the meanest of all the prophets to destroy fanatics, and bad fellas like you! and Bahasa Melayu contains around a majority of Tamil and Sanskrit words. So yea, if a religion such as Islam (where Judaism existed before Islam) can talk as much as this, imagine Hinduism where the age of its creation is uncertain till today has to say?"

My point is, yeah sure, we were all that - harbinger of civilization, Tamil and Sanskrit form the base of all language, we gave the world science and math, etc, etc.. While we defend ourselves on that base, today, in the face of false claimants and detractors we have failed to be civil, humble and kind like our ancestors were. Look at how the commentator address the Merong Mahawangsa dude - he called him b*stard. Where are his civil attributes? Given to the ancient glorious period - other comments include angered Indians calling Malays indulge in incest and that they are always on the wait for crutches and help from the government like dogs. See, an eye for an eye makes the world go blind. We, Indians, failed to retain and evolve our past glory but we never cease to bask in it and let out litany after litany pertaining our ancient pioneers when faced with insults and jeers from other races here, as though we did all those neat feats. It is of course, warranted to acknowledge, know and disseminate the yester years successes but we should not be proud of the accomplishments of our ancestors simply because we did not contribute anything to them. Forget the past and focus on the present for the future.

Why are we where we are today? Besides our ancestors being kind-hearted - teaching and giving the world knowledge and wisdom, we have rested on our laurels - if other races here ask us what are our achievements, we list out all of what our progenitors have done. And, then we say proud to be Indian. It is like saying that we are proud to have two kidneys. Hello boss, we live in Malaysia - we were born in Malaysia and if anybody call us pendatang we need not be offended - all humans originate from Africa. We are all Africans but mostly, mostly, humans. Yaathum oore, yaavarum kelir, this philosophy came from an Indian. For those who don't know what it means, by all means, Google.

We don't hear white people saying that they are proud to be white. If they were gratified by the invention of the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell, we would not have iPhones on our hands now. Think about it. The Jews were nearly wiped out by Holocaust but today, they hold the reins of the world. Closer to home, Singapore was a basket case of swamps when she got expelled from the federation of Malaysia. Look at today's Singapore; she left Malaysia in the dust. Intelligence and genius are race blind - instead of being proud of a genetic anomaly, let's do something that would benefit us and others.

I am sure all of you heard about Mohamed Hidayat; he defiled Thaipusam, saying that it is a satan copulating fest and called us 'keling' and it has gravely offended us all. Let me tell you, those who really know Hinduism will just laugh this off as a lame joke. The picture below calls for justice; to have the criticizers arrested and apologize for good measure. What we can get from the 'apology' so called 'justice' and the 'arrest we are so hankering for? Will it raise our financial status, feed our children or give us self respect? Especially as a marginalized community where the government doesn't give a hoot and our leaders who make it look like they give a hoot but they actually don't give a hoot, we should know better. Why spend time entertaining religious sensitivity when there are more pressing issues besetting our community? You have taken the vow at Lord Muruga that you will do well in your exams so work feverishly to attain your goal - don't feed this sensitivity frenzy. One fellow defacing Hinduism would not damage the whole cornerstone of our religion - perpetuating this free-for-all is like inviting termites into our wooden house; it will rot us from within. Let me ask, where does all these cussing, criticizing and cursing take us? Nowhere, right.. God has given us brain to think and seek knowledge so do it.. Please..

Photo: How many of u still anger with Man nambabi and Mohamed hidababi?

i think most of u still anger.

But 1st of all , We Hindu's must unite as one team, No as 04,08,21,24,36,505, satu hati and so on, Just only one, Malaysian Hindu's. Facebook is the correct medium to show our unity and this pic will talk everything. a humble request from admin, make this pic as your profile pic. that's all dot

Instead of wasting time by creating posts like this, clamor for the government that we know don't give a damn to take action and swearing away in social network because we have maanam, rosham, soodu, soranai, keep calm and do what will benefit us in the long run - study well, work hard, focus on self and community development, take matters into our own hands, not relying on MIC or waiting for a savior to salvage our plight and prove to these people that we can make it and that they are wrong.

See, we built Malaysia as a unit - the Malays tilled the land and fed their fellow citizens, the Chinese did businesses and created job opportunities and the Indians cleared forests and built the nation, roads and communication. We built Malaysia together. We cannot live without nasi lemak, teh tarik, roti canai and char kuey tiow. Similarly, we cannot live without each other. The people who arouse such racism are the minority - we, the majority, still joke around with our friends of different races. Concentrate on the latter - positive vibes are much more abundant and stronger than negative vibes. Let's concentrate on our positive vibes, kindle the Malaysian spirit and embrace our fellow compatriots. Ambil yang jernih, buang yang keruh. Take in the good and leave out the bad.

POLITICIANS ARE LIKE FAMILY DOGS

The picture that emerges is that of a great country in a state of moral decay. The immediate future seems to belong to the doomsayers rather than to cheer mongers. We suffer from a fatty degeneration of conscience, and the malady seems to be not only persistent but prone to aggravation. The life style of too many politicians and businessmen bears eloquent testimony to the truth of dictum that the single minded pursuit of money impoverishes the mind, shrivels the imagination and desiccates the heart.

The tri-colour fluttering all over the country is black, red and scarlet – black money, red tape and scarlet corruption.

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day.

He has his food prepared for him.

He can eat whenever he wants, 24/7/365.

His meals are provided at no cost to him.

By the way he does not need to pay for medical insurance He visits the doctor once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise.

For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him.

He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep. If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.

He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.

He receives these accommodations absolutely free.

He is living like a King, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.

All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head.......My dog is like the POLITICIAN!!

But, at least dogs are trustworthy and loyal to their masters, politicians are NOT!!
